Hydratem8 Water Bottle Review

I mentioned in my fitness essentials post that I am terrible at getting enough water every day. It’s not that I don’t want to, or that I don’t like the taste of water – it’s simply because I forget. If I don’t physically have a bottle or glass of water in front of me I simply won’t even register that I need a drink. It’s even got to the point sometimes where I have a splitting headache and a dry mouth and I’ve realised I’ve hardly had anything to drink that day.

One of my Goals for 2016  was to drink more water and to help with that I decided to purchase a Hydratem8 water bottle to help encourage me to drink more.

It’s priced at £13.99 and is BPA free, something that was really important for me when choosing a water bottle as I don’t want my water to get contaminated from the plastic my bottle is made from. The capacity is 900ml and as recommended guidelines tell us to drink 2 litres of water a day I refill the bottle once and I’ve almost met my goal! Another thing that impressed me about Hydratem8 is that with every bottle purchased £1 of that sale goes to pump aid – a charity working to provide safe water and a decent toilet to the poorest communities.

A great feature of the Hydratem8 bottle is the hourly lines painted on the side of the bottle to remind you to keep drinking, I find this really works for me as if I look at my water bottle and can see that I haven’t drunk enough that day then I will actively try and catch up. Hydratem8 bottle straw

It’s got a non-leak top and comes with a useful carry handle. I also like the fact it has a flip top straw, this makes one handed drinking a breeze and I like the design of the bottle.

To make my water more interesting I’ve started adding slices of lime, this gives my water a nice citrus kick. I’m hoping that I will be able to keep up my good habits and can get to a point where drinking 2 litres of water a day becomes a natural thing I do, rather than something I have to remind myself to do.

I would recommend the Hydratem8 bottle to anyone looking to increase their  water intake. It’s brilliant for the gym too as it’s easy to refill and fits in the water holders on the machines nicely. I’m looking forward to trying out different flavour combinations in my water and am looking forward to the health benefits that come from drinking more!

  1. Oooooh I keep seeing these bottles around and love the concept – I was recently gifted one of the fruit infusion water bottles and absolutely love it! xx
